GET THAT CORN OUTTA MA FACE

Street Corn

More Street Corn

Are they always eating??

Hollllllllaaaaa everyone! How are all of you!? Please feel free to write me! I miss all of your wonderful faces because we don't have Facebook here so send pictures!

This week definitely had its highs and lows because a lot of our appointments never answered and it's heartbreaking because I know how much the gospel can help them!  But it also had its highs because I have never felt so close to our Savior!  I can truly see his hand in my life and I know that he's there in yours too!

I'm so excited for General Conference this week!  I invite all of you to watch it!  Another high from this week is this little lady comes out at night with a little cart and sells corn on the Cobb AND IT'S SO DANG GOOD! So I definitely didn't do the Nacho Libre thing and smack it away haha.  I loved it so much I got it the next night.  That lady is my new best friend!!

Anyways I love you all so much!

First Week in Mexico!

Still eating

Old Church in El Centro, Oaxaca
With Elder Torres

Al Pastor Tacos!

Hey Everyone!!

How are you all doing?!  I am in Mexico which is so crazy!  It has definitely been difficult sometimes because I understand about 4% of everything that is said to me but I still love it!  It's so amazing to be teaching real people with real problems about our Savior.  I don't totally understand what is said most of the time but I do understand that the Spirit is there!  The Spirit is a common language that everyone can understand!!

Mexico

Mexico is quite the place, and I LOVE IT.

The buildings are so colorful, the people are so kind, the gangs of wild dogs, AND 10 Al PASTOR TACOS FOR 50 PESOS (That is like 3 and half dollars and it was so delicious... best day ever) I LOVE IT ALL.

My family, specifically my sister, who is a trauma nurse should not read this next part. Ok, so the driving here is so crazy and fun. I'm pretty sure they have a system, but I can't quite figure out what it is so I just trust in the Lord and in my taxi driver haha.  Also in Oaxaca they have these things called moto taxis which are these little 3 wheeled golf cart things that zoom around everywhere.  They can fit 3 people in the back so it's usually me and my companion and then a little old Oaxacan lady will hop in as well with all of her groceries 😂There are a ton of speed bumps here as well and the moto taxis go pretty slow when we go over them (usually) which is good because seatbelts don't really exist here

OK nurse Morgan you can continue reading here.

I love it here so much! Sure it can definitely be hard sometimes but the Lord provides and gives hope!  It is so amazing that as I am bringing other people closer to Christ I become closer as well.  I feel like I can feel a small portion of the Savior's infinite love for every single one of us.  God truly does care about every single one of us and about every aspect of our lives. Even the little things.  So pray to our loving Heavenly Father who wants to speak with you!

Let me know how you are all doing!  Love you all!

Last Week!

Elder Lacey's Niece Hazel

Celebrating Elder Crandall's birthday

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well!!

I’ve got one more week until I ship out to Oaxaca! Isn’t that crazy!? Time has flown by so quickly!!

These last couple weeks have been awesome! I’ve learned a lot and had a ton of fun doing it!! And you’d be surprised how much you can feel the Spirit through a computer screen! I learn something new about the gospel everyday and it is so cool. I love hearing the comments and testimonies of the super awesome people in my district and my teachers. Learning Spanish has been hard but good! I don’t quite feel like I know enough yet, but I know if I keep working hard then the Lord will help me out!

I’ve had some really cool experiences in the past couple of weeks where I really know the Lord was making up the difference, especially when it comes to my Spanish. I’ve been teaching a lot of lessons, and I have noticed that in the lessons that I am really trying to teach with the Spirit and not just read notes off a page, I am able to say all that I want to say in Spanish.(even if it is really rough and not grammatically correct at all😂) I feel the Spirit so strongly in those lessons in particular, and I can tell the spirit is putting thoughts and words in my mind that I could have never come up with myself. Isn’t that so cool!?!? The gift of tongues rocks!

Now I’ve definitely made lots of embarrassing mistakes that have led to lots of good laughs, but that just comes with learning! I love laughing at myself and I'm convinced that the Lord has a sense of humor too😂

I have loved my district and my companion so much! They are truly some of the best people I have ever met. We’ve gotten along great and had some really fun times. They’ve become some of my best friends in these few short weeks. I have just loved my teachers so much too. They do such a great job of inviting the Spirit into our Zoom meetings. They are both from Mexico so it has been great listening to them talk and learning from them!

Over these past few weeks I have really noticed the hand of the Lord in my life! I can look back and can see all the ways that I have been prepared for this time. I can see it through experiences that I’ve had and people that I have met. I know that the Lord has a plan for each of us! Specific to our talents and needs!

I’m super excited to see what the Lord has waiting for me in Oaxaca!

I love you all and I know the Savior loves you too!

Con amor,

Elder Lacey:)

Trip to Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City

Hermanas Swapp and Hope; Elders Lacey and Crandall

Photoshopped District Picture

Hello Everyone!

This week was so fantastic!  My Spanish is really coming along and I have felt the Spirit so strong.  I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ.  Part of what made this week so fun is that I got flown to Salt Lake City with a ton of other missionaries so we could meet with the Mexican Consulate to get our visas.  Everything went well at the consulate and it looks like I'll be heading to Oaxaca in two weeks!!  (Which is insane)

Salt Lake was so great because in between meeting with the consulate I got to meet people from my district! Elder Crandall and Elder Moa were there for the consulate as well but Hermana Swapp and Hermana Hope live in the area so they came to visit.  It was so great to meet people I have grown to love so much.  Unfortunately not everyone could come but I photoshopped them into our picture so they were there in our hearts haha.

I love you all!  Feel free to email me and ask questions!
