La Gira

Ok so usually I don't have much to write because the weeks are always good but usually pretty simple, but this week was CRAZY so buckle up.

So there are 4 Assistants to President.  2 usually stay in the city and 2 go out to the zones that are far from the city to go on a tour of the outside zones.  President told me that I was going to stay in the city but the night before we left he changed it and said that I was going on the tour.  So I had to pack my bags that night to travel for 3 weeks 😳

The next day, Tuesday, we went on a 7 hour bus ride to set up a multi-zone conference.  We were doing that for a long time and I was running around everywhere to set stuff up.  All the decorations were falling and it was crazy but everything turned out well😅

Wednesday we had the conference and I gave another training and it went well and the Zone Conference went well.  I still had to run around a lot but I got used to it.

Thursday President had interviews with two zones so we were helping with all that and President bought us KFC so that was nice. Also, at night he took us out for dinner and we drank this weird bubbly drink called pooboo or something like that and it was actually pretty good!

Friday we traveled with President to Huatulco and did exchanges with the missionaries there.  It was amazing!  We found a super amazing family and it was an absolute miracle how we found them!  They even ended up coming to church!

Saturday we went to another town and did exchanges with the missionaries there and they also went well!

Sunday there was a District Conference on the coast so we were attending those meetings.  They needed extra help so I ended up singing in the choir 😂  I'm meeting lots of people and everyone always asks about my hair and if I can send a picture of it to them so they can show their barber JAJAJA.  I also got to go to Pochutla and say hey to everyone there so that was awesome!

Sunday night President brought us to Puerto Escondido and we stayed the night with the Elders there.  But let me tell you it is HOT here on the coast.  The elders have air-conditioning but there was a thunderstorm that took out all the power, so we didn't have air-conditioning 😪 So I ended up sleeping on the floor and it was super hot. But in the middle of the night the power came back and the air conditioning turned on and I woke up and I was super cold 😂 during the chaos of the night a curtain fell from the wall and I ended up using it has a blanket 😂😂

Today we are going to play beach volleyball with the district here and with President Martinez!

Something I have seen a ton this week has how much the Spirit helps us.  I can't deny it.  The Spirit testifies of our Heavenly Father and of Christ.  It is our guide and will always help us.  We must strive to feel the prompting of the Spirit more often and we will be so blessed!

New Things

Hey Everyone!  I'm writing today and not on Monday because my P-day is Saturday now.  It changed because now I'm working in the offices of the mission.  I was called to be an Assistant to the President of mission.  It's definitely new but I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn.

But this week was pretty crazy and busy.  Transfers were on Tuesday so there were missionaries traveling and we had to make sure everything was OK.  But the problem was that sometimes here in Oaxaca when people want to protest they just do roadblocks.  And there were so many roadblocks that day.  So missionaries got to their houses 7 hours later then they should've but everything finished well😅

We went to bed pretty late that night making sure all the missionaries got home and then we had to get up at 3 in the morning to take the missionaries to the airport.  To say the lest I didn't sleep much this week😴

The next day we had to prepare for a leadership conference and that went well.  Yesterday we had a multi zone conference and we had to give trainings to like 80 missionaries and plan everything.  It was a little crazy but everything worked out and it was a good experience.

It's weird to be in the offices preparing trainings or planning stuff and not to be out in the street but I'm learning a lot.  It's really cool to be able to work alongside the president of the mission.

I got to go the the temple!!  We went with the missionaries who were going home and it was such a special experience.  I love the temple and I know it is the House of the Lord.  I know covenants help and protect us.

I love this gospel!

Good week

This week was great!  It was the last week of the transfer and we saw a ton of miracles.

Something I have come to know and rely on is the Spirit.  The Spirit truly does speak to us and that is so incredibly special.

Elder Chávez finishes his mission this week and I will miss him a ton.  He is a great companion and missionary.  I am also getting transferred.  I'm sad to leave this area.  The members and the people we are teaching are so special and I love them all so much.

I've noticed I have a curse.  If I bring an umbrella it doesn't rain and if I don't bring one it rains. 😳  At first I thought it was a coincidence but no.  At this point it is just science😂 It doesn't matter what the weather app says in the morning if I don't bring an umbrella it will rain

Something I read is that the point of the gospel of Jesus Christ is to make bad men good, and good men better.  This is so true.  Often we focus on the atonement of Jesus Christ as only something that changes us from bad to good but I feel like most of us are good.  I am so grateful that the atonement of Jesus Christ helps us be better.

Side note we are in a taxi right now and the driver wasn't paying attention very well and we hit a speed bump and flew😂😂
