Transfers

Ofelia's Baptism

So these last two weeks have been pretty crazy!

Two weeks ago we had transfers so that's why I didn't write.  We were super busy planning logistics and calling people for transfers and there were a few surprises and changes so I went to the airport like 5 times in 3 days but I learned a lot!  For a few days my schedule consisted of going to bed late doing logistics and waking up early to go to the airport 😅

A big group of 20 new missionaries got here and it was fun being with them and remembering my first days in the mission.  It's weird seeing how far I've come but it feels like I got here yesterday!  The mission goes by so fast!

The secretaries are training other secretaries so the offices are full!  There are 4 assistants, 5 secretaries, 1 senior missionary, and 2 technology specialists!  We have a lot of fun together though!

Next week I'm starting to go on a tour of the mission again!  And this tour will be even longer 😎

We had a baptism this week!  She has been wanting to be baptized for a few years but her family didn't want her to.  But the mission is full of miracles and Ofelia was finally able to make a covenant with the Lord!🥳

I was thinking a lot about how the Spirit speaks with us this.  If we have received the gift of the Holy Ghost and are worthy we have no reason to doubt that we will receive revelation.  I believe that the speaks to us much more often than we realize.  There is a new BYU speech called Flashes of Light that I would highly recommend!!

Bautismo

Alejandro's baptism

Howdy yall

This week we finished our tour and drove back to Oaxaca with President.  It's always such an amazing experience to talk with him and learn so much.

Wednesday all the missionaries who are going home go on a tour to historic sites in Oaxaca with President.  We have to go to because we have to coordinate and pay for everything.  That was a lot of fun to learn more about the culture of Oaxaca and go to ruins and stuff!

Thursday all the missionaries who are going to train came to the city to be trained!  I really enjoy giving trainings now!  At first I was nervous but after our tour we gave like 10 trainings to the missionaries and now I'm used to talking in front of big groups of people.  It was a super spiritual experience and the Spirit was so strong!

Friday we had a few meetings and we had a baptism!!  Alejandro is who got baptized and be is so amazing!  I taught him a few times before I left on the tour and the day I got back he asked me to baptize him!  It was such a special spiritual experience!  He his truly converted.  After that we went with President to work on transfers for a bit and it was also such an amazing experience and it is so awesome to learn a little bit more how revelation works!

Today we are playing spikeball but the rest of this week we are going to be super busy finishing transfers and doing logistics for all the missionaries who are getting transferred and for all the missionaries who are going to get to the mission which are a ton😳

This week my love for the Book of Mormon has grown so much.  I have a testimony that if we want to talk to God we should pray and if we want God to talk to us we should read the scriptures!  They were written for our time and we will receive so much guidance in our lives of we read them!  So read them!

(Especially The Book of Mormon😉)

La Gira Pt. 3

Ok so this was the last week of our tour going around the mission and it was a lot of fun!

We've been doing a lot of exchanges and a lot of district trainings.  It's so great to be able to work with a lot of different missionaries.  We contact and teach a lot of amazing people but it's kinda sad we only get to know them for a day😂

We were in a place called Juchitan this week and here they speak a lot of Zapoteco.  Zapoteco is a dialect here and it's pretty crazy.  It's nothing like Spanish.  We were in a lesson and the lady got mad at her kids so she was screaming in Zapoteco and chasing her kids around with a chancla in circles around us😂😳  it was a pretty fun experience haha.

Something I noticed here in Juchitan is that people here absolutely love my hair.  Some drunk ladies are pretty bold to be honest and say lots of interesting things to say the least.  Also here in Juchitan there is a group of people called Muche.  They were born men but for cultural reasons they dress like women.  They also make some pretty interesting comments about me.😅  a youth in a ward we visited took a picture with me and said he was going to put it on Facebook and said he met Jack Frost😂  It's gonna be kinda a bummer going back to the States and I won't be special anymore 😅

I want to invite everyone reading this to read the Book of Mormon everyday!  It is the word of God!  If we read it everyday and follow its precepts we will have peace.  It's as simple as that!  I know the book of Mormon is the word of God.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a missionary.  The Lord helps who he calls and I'm so eternally grateful for it!  We know who we are and who we can become!

La Gira Pt. 2

This week we continued on the tour of the mission!

It has been a lot of fun!  We've been visiting lot's of missionaries and working un lot's of different areas.

We went and played volleyball last week and that was fun!  I also realized I'm not the best at volleyball 😅

From all the traveling and sleeping on the floor my back will definitely never be the same but that's alright I'm learning a lot!!  😂

I absolutely loved general conference!  I felt the Spirit so strong.  I have no doubt that there are Prophets on the earth today!  If we focus on the Savior with everything we do our life will be so much easier.  It won't be easy but we will have our Saviors help with everything.  I think that is such a special promise!  Heavenly Father knows us and cares for us!
